Kate boasts 10 years in the industry, with humble beginnings working in a boutique in Manly as a school based apprentice while in Grade 10. After watching and listening, Kate developed a huge passion for hairdressing and knew that this is what she wanted to do. She was persistent in gaining experience in this field and so, once that boutique closed, she found a new position at Sublime Hairdressing in Carindale. She really honed her skills during her time here, learning from highly experienced stylists doing a range of services. In just a couple of short years, after the fast-paced, high turn-over style work at Sublime, her work ethic and newfound confidence in her skills saw her approach another hair brand, Marigold Bulimba, where she returned to her roots in boutique style and specialised in blondes for 2.5 years.

Her young, fresh perspective and passion to fill gaps in the hair salon experience led Kate to step out on her own and form Olea in 2021.

 

Kate considers herself an "education junkie" and loves to learn and grow as the industry constantly innovates. As well as being Olea's Creative Director, she is dog-mum to Hamish, loves spending time with her small circle, hanging at home with family and continuing on with her hobby of Physie in her spare time.
